FanDuel Predicts is a joint venture between FanDuel Group and CME Group, launched December 22, 2025. You trade binary Yes/No event contracts on sports, commodities, financials, economics, and crypto under federal CFTC regulation, with every contract executing on CME's exchange. As of July 2026, non-sports markets run in all 50 states plus DC, and sports contracts run in 18 states.
The structural fact that separates it from everything else: since DraftKings launched its own DKeX exchange in June 2026, FanDuel Predicts is the only major consumer prediction platform whose contracts live on CME Group, and FanDuel co-owns that business rather than renting exchange access.
The Core Concept: Event Contracts on CME
Every market is a Yes/No question with a price between $0.01 and $0.99. The price is the implied probability: a $0.60 contract means 60%. Win and each contract pays $1.00 at settlement minus FanDuel's 2% payout fee; lose and it pays zero. All contracts trade and settle on CME Group's CFTC-regulated exchange, and FanDuel co-owns the prediction markets business rather than merely routing to it.
The Regulatory Stack
Four layers: FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC (CFTC-registered FCM, NFA member) operates the platform; Plus500 provides brokerage infrastructure per the launch announcement; CME Group (NASDAQ: CME) is the exchange and clearinghouse; FanDuel Group, owned by Flutter Entertainment, is the consumer brand. What you get for the extra plumbing is CME's clearinghouse standing behind settlement.
How a Trade Actually Works
Open the standalone FanDuel Predicts app. Pick a market (sports show moneyline odds, non-sports show contract prices), tap Yes or No, enter your stake, and confirm; the summary reflects the 2% fee. Many markets support cash-out before settlement at the live price. At resolution winners collect $0.98 net per contract, losers nothing.
What You Can Trade
Sports in the 18 eligible states (NFL, college football, NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, soccer, tennis, golf). Everywhere: commodities, financials (S&P 500, Nasdaq, EUR/USD), economics (Fed decisions, CPI, GDP, jobs), and crypto. Still missing: politics.
The Sportsbook-Style Display
An NBA market shows Lakers -150 / Celtics +130 instead of Lakers Yes at $0.60. Same 60% implied probability, two representations. Learn to see through the moneyline to the contract price: when you internalize that -150 means the market charges 60 cents for a dollar, you start spotting when that 60 cents is wrong. That's the entire skill.
Fees, Funding, and the Questionnaire
Flat 2% on payouts; a $100 winning payout nets $98, and its one trap is heavy favorites. Funding is debit or ACH, free, $5 minimum, no credit cards. Onboarding includes a short suitability questionnaire, standard for CFTC derivatives accounts.
Predicts vs. FanDuel Sportsbook
Separate app and balance, different regulator (federal CFTC vs. state), no sports overlap in sportsbook states, and different taxes (capital gains vs. gambling income). If you're in Texas or California, Predicts is the closest thing to a FanDuel sportsbook your state allows.
Bottom Line
FanDuel Predicts works the way a prediction market should, wrapped in the most familiar interface in the business and backed by the most established exchange in the world. For a sports fan in California, Texas, Florida, or Georgia, it's the shortest distance between betting on FanDuel and trading regulated event contracts.
