FanDuel Predicts charges one fee: a flat 2% on payouts. Winning settlements and early sell-offs pay it. Losing trades don’t pay anything beyond the lost stake. No deposit fees, no withdrawal fees, no inactivity fees.
Simple. But simple fee structures hide sharp edges, and this one has a big one: because the 2% comes off the full payout rather than your profit, the fee’s real bite depends entirely on the contract price you’re trading. On a longshot, 2% is a rounding error. On a heavy favorite, it can eat a fifth of your profit.
How the Fee Works
The fee applies to payouts (winning settlements and early cash-outs); lose, and there's no fee at all. It's 2% of the payout, not of your stake or profit. The rate is the same across every market and contract size. There's no probability-weighted formula like Kalshi's and no category-based rates like Polymarket's.
The Math at Four Price Points
A $0.50 contract that wins: fee $0.02, which took 4% of your $0.48 profit. A $0.10 longshot that wins: fee $0.02, about 2.2% of your $0.90 upside. An $0.80 favorite that wins: fee $0.02, 10% of your $0.20 upside. A $0.90 heavy favorite that wins: fee $0.02, a full 20% of your $0.10 profit. Same 2% everywhere, wildly different effective cost. The structure quietly punishes favorite-backers, the exact opposite of Kalshi's formula.
What This Means for How You Trade
Stay under $0.80 whenever you can. The sweet spot is roughly $0.30 to $0.60, which is also where most sportsbook-style bets live. Cash-outs carry the same 2%, so there's no penalty for exiting early versus holding.
Predicts vs. Sportsbook Vig
A standard -110 sportsbook line carries roughly 4.5% implied vig per side. The same wager as a $0.55 contract on Predicts costs about 3.6% effective. Meaningfully cheaper, on the same operator's other app.
Deposits and Withdrawals: Free
Deposits cost nothing (debit card instant, ACH free, $5 minimum, no credit cards). Withdrawals are free and generally go back to your deposit method. No inactivity or maintenance fees.
How FanDuel Compares (July 2026)
Effective cost to win a 50/50 market per $100 of payout: FanDuel Predicts $2.00; Kalshi $1.75 max; Polymarket sports $0.75 (Geopolitics free); Robinhood ~$1 per 100 contracts; OG.com ~$2 per 100 ($0 held to settlement); DraftKings $2 mid-range; sportsbook ~$4.55. At the midpoint FanDuel is the priciest regulated prediction platform and still about half a sportsbook's cost.
Bottom Line
FanDuel's 2%-on-payout fee is honest, easy to compute, and cheaper than any sportsbook. It is not the cheapest in prediction markets, and it structurally taxes favorites harder than anything else you'll trade. Price your trades with the fee included. Sign up HERE.
